Question

Population of two villages A and B are in the ratio of 5:7 respectively. If the population of village B increased by 25000 and the population of village A remains unchanged the respective ratio of their populations becomes 25:36. What is the population of village A?

  • 6,25,000
  • 6,75,000
  • 8,75,000
  • 9,00,000
  • None of these
Answer- A

Let the population of the village A be 5X and that of village B = 7X

As per the given data,

(5X/7X+25000) = (25/36)
