You have to take the given statements to be true even If they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the given statements disregarding commonly known facts.

Statements: All rockets are poles.
                     Some poles are trams.
                     Some trams are ropes.
                     All ropes are tents.

Conclusions: I. Some tents are trams.
                     II. Some ropes are rockets.
                     III. Some trams are rockets.
                     IV. Some poles are rockets.

  • Only I and II follow
  • Only I, II and III follow
  • Only I and III follow
  • Only I and IV follow
  • None follows
Answer- D

Some trams are ropes + All ropes are tents = I + A = I = some trams are tents à conversion à some tents are trams (I). Hence I follows.

All rockets are poles + some poles are trams = A + I = No conclusion. Hence III does not follow. Neither does II.

All rockets are poles(A) à conversion à some poles are rockets. Hence IV follows.
