Question

30% and 40% of two bottles contain juice. To dilute the juice water is added for the remaining percentage and the total mixture is emptied into a jug. Find the ratio of the Juice and water in the jug?

  • 7/15
  • 7/13
  • 7/11
  • 7/9
Answer- B

Let the capacity of each bottle = 1

Total capacity of two bottles = 1+1= 2

Quantity of juice in the first bottle = 3/10

Quantity of Juice in the second bottle = 4/10

Total quantity of juice in the two bottles = 3/10 + 4/10 = 7/10

Hence the amount of water in the two bottles = 2 - 7/10 = 13/10

Required ratio of Juice and water = (7/10)/(13/10) = 7/13.
