Question

A rice mill owner mixed 600 kg of rice worth Rs. 60 per kg and 400 kg of rice worth Rs. 70 per kg. He mixes the two and sells the mixture at Rs. 80 per kg. What is the percentage profit in this deal?

  • 25
  • 50
  • 75
  • 100
Answer- A

Total cost price of (600 + 400) 1000kg of mixture = (600*60 + 400*70)

= 36000 + 28000

= Rs. 64000

Now, selling price of the mixture = 1000 * 80 = Rs. 80000

Profit = 80000 - 64000 = Rs. 16000

Required percentage profit = 16000/64000 ∗ 100 = 25%
